Jacob Law LLP Charity Initiative

jacob law property solicitors gold line

At Jacob Law LLP, we believe that legal practice goes beyond professional services – it’s about community, empathy, and shared responsibility.

Buying, selling, or refinancing property is often one of life’s most significant milestones, bringing relief, excitement, and gratitude.

We also recognise these moments as an opportunity to reflect on how fortunate many of us are to have a secure home, financial stability, and access to professional support. Our new initiative gives clients the chance to help those who are less fortunate.

Small Refunds Policy - Giving Back Together

As part of our Charity Contribution Initiative, minor surpluses on client accounts after a transaction are used to support housing, homelessness, and community welfare charities:

Refunds up to €20: If the balance on your account is under €20, then, with your prior agreement and consent, it will be donated to our charity initiative.

Refunds between €20 and €50:
If the balance is between €20 and €50, we will obtain your prior agreement and consent. However, since it is over €20, we will also send you a confirmation email to advise you of the outstanding balance and ask if you would like to receive the money back. If not, it will be donated to the Charity Initiative.

Refunds over €50:
If the balance is over €50, it will be automatically refunded to you.

Each time a client donates the small refund, we also contribute to the charity fund.

Small Amounts for a Big Impact

Even small amounts, when combined, can make a big impact.

For example, 1,000 small surpluses could generate €10,000 to €30,000.

With Jacob Law LLP’s contribution, the total donation could range from €20,000 to €60,000.

When Do We Make the Donations?

Part of the funds will be donated throughout the year, with larger contributions made each December, when the need for charitable support is greatest, ensuring the maximum impact for the community.

How Do We Keep You Informed?

Jacob Law LLP maintains, and will continue to maintain, full transparency by sharing quarterly and annual summaries, client notifications, and detailed accounting records regularly on our website and social media to show how every contribution helps.

Supporting Meaningful Causes

Right of Place – Second Chance

Right of Place – Second Chance: Supporting Survivors of Institutional Child Abuse and their families on their journey to Truth, Justice and Healing. They provide practical help and offer a forum for communication, information, validation, peer support, and encouragement.

The group is based in Waterford and is led by Siobhan Byrne, who welcomed Jacob Law’s Practice Manager Marianne Reynolds and Brand Communication Manager Marija Koporcic, on 5th March, to meet the Survivors and participate in their art session. We brought lots of art supplies for the group, and it was amazing to see how small contributions from our clients, combined with our own, can be so meaningful.

Waterford Marine Search & Rescue (WMSAR)

The Jacob Law LLP Charity Initiative proudly supports Waterford Marine Search and Rescue – a volunteer-led emergency service providing 24/7 search, rescue, recovery, and suicide prevention operations across Waterford since 2010.

Founded by Declan and Darryl Barry, WMSAR has grown to over 50 dedicated volunteers and operates a fleet of rescue and recovery boats across the River Suir and surrounding waterways.

Since 2010, WMSAR volunteers have rescued 32 people alive from the River Suir, prevented 124 people from entering the water during moments of crisis, logged over 1,920 hours annually on suicide prevention patrols, and helped save 156 lives.

The Jacob Law LLP Charity Initiative is honoured to support the life-saving work and commitment of WMSAR and its volunteers.

Property Picnic 2026 in aid of Cancer Trials Ireland

At Jacob Law LLP, we are proud to support initiatives that make a meaningful difference. Property Picnic 2026, organised by Hooke & MacDonald and held on Thursday, 21st May 2026 in Dublin city centre, brought the property sector together in support of Cancer Trials Ireland.

Now in its fifth year, the event has become a key date in the industry calendar, raising vital awareness and funding for cancer research. The evening provided an opportunity for collaboration and collective support across the property sector, united by a shared commitment to advancing access to life-changing clinical trials for patients across Ireland.

Since its launch in 2022, Property Picnic has raised over €600,000 for Cancer Trials Ireland, directly supporting access to life-changing clinical trials for patients across Ireland.

Waterford Food Bank

Jacob Law LLP is proud to support the Waterford Food Bank, a vital community organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity across Waterford City.

Established in 2017 as part of the FoodCloud initiative and supported through FEAD funding alongside donations from local individuals and businesses, the Food Bank plays an essential role in providing ongoing food assistance throughout the community.

Each week, it distributes food parcels to over 250 families and operates school breakfast clubs supporting 165 children, helping ensure children start their school day with access to a nutritious meal. The organisation also delivers a range of seasonal and community-focused initiatives that provide additional support to those most in need.

Jacob Law LLP is honoured to support the important and ongoing work of Waterford Food Bank within the local community.
